Cait and Scott first met in college, and the twists and turns of fate brought their paths together time and again. After dating for a while they broke up, but over the years they ran into each other while watching their favorite musician, Xavier Rudd. Before an Xavier Rudd concert in Milwaukee, Scott asked Cait to dinner, and they have stayed together ever since. Scott proposed in the front row during an Xavier Rudd concert, and their journey toward forever began. To me, these lyrics by Xavier Rudd seemed so beautifully fitting for Cait and Scott:
I feel it, with everything you do
I like this, I do yes I like you
This connection, we felt it, from day one
Lets lay out peaceful and stare into the stars
Their wedding day was a true reflection of their personalities, a vegan affair filled with lovely hand-made details and bursting with love and happiness. This was our first visit to the stunning Farm at Dover, and hopefully it won't be our last. The Farm is truly the perfect venue, an elegant and rustic barn situated on gorgeous, lovingly maintained grounds. Every detail was just perfect...
Cait got ready with her bridesmaids and men inside the gorgeous Victorian farmhouse, while Scott and his friends (including man's best friend Banjo) relaxed in the stylish groom's cabin.
Just before their first look inside the Secret Garden, Cait and Scott paused to read letters they had written to one another.
Banjo was SO well behaved for his mom and dad's big day, he looked absolutely adorable in his custom doggie tie.
The ceremony took place in the woods, it was an emotional and beautiful celebration of Cait and Scott's love.
After the ceremony we walked back to the barn for cocktails, everything looked AMAZING...
As the sun set, we snuck away from the cocktail hour for a few last romantic shots with Cait and Scott in the beautiful open fields just past The Farm.
Once the reception started, guests were treated to a delicious vegan feast and heartfelt toasts by those closest to Cait and Scott.
For their first dance as husband and wife, Cait and Scott chose two songs. The first was slow, quiet, and romantic. The second, by the amazing Xavier Rudd, was a happy jam that brought their guests out to the dance floor to party the night away.
Cait and Scott are die-hard Cubs fans (after my own heart!) Since their reception took place during Game 2 of the NLDS, Cait and Scott made sure to bring along their W flag, and we took time out from dancing to loudly and proudly sing "Go Cubs Go."
Thank you, Cait and Scott, for sharing this unforgettable day with us. We love you and wish you a lifetime of happiness together!
