Laura and Mike are one of those easy-going, undeniably charming couples that are perfectly suited for each other. On their wedding website they shared this sweet, simple and silly love story:
Our story begins in October of 2013, the weekend of the Chicago Marathon. Mike was in town to present a paper at some conference no one attended, while Laura was excited to cheer for people she didn't know running in a giant circle. Their mutual friends, Robert and Julie, invited them out for drinks.
Sparks flew instantly. Laura’s charm and beauty were undeniable, while Mike….still had some hair. Love was in the air.
Alas, they lived hundreds of miles apart: Laura in Madison, WI and Mike in Boulder, CO.
Determined to win the man of her dreams, Laura messaged Mike with some questions about graduate school. Too thick to realize she did not need his advice, Mike answered the questions in earnest, inundating with Laura with insights gleamed from nearly a decade of unnecessary schooling.
After only a few weeks, Laura convinced Mike to visit Madison and, after sharing one basket of fried cheese curds, he knew he had found the woman of his dreams.
As we photographed Laura and Mike on their wedding day it was clear that they are soulmates, two academics with a love for family, travel and adventure. Despite the gloomy weather the memories of this beautiful day are all sunny; it was the sweetest celebration of Laura and Mike's commitment to each other.
Congratulations, Laura and Mike, we love you and wish you a lifetime of happiness together!
