When we first photographed Kathryn and Mike at their engagement session, we were struck by how perfect they were for each other. He is a biomedical researcher, she is a data analyst. They both love traveling and are amazing puppy parents to their high-energy chihuahua-terrier mix Mushu. Their wedding day was a peaceful and joyful reflection of Kathryn and Mike's love for their friends, families and one another.
Every time we photograph a wedding at Makray Memorial Golf Club it feels like coming home. The staff is so warm and welcoming, they always make sure every details is taken care of. We loved the gorgeous florals at Kathryn and Mike's wedding, the team at Prairie Basket Floral Design created unforgettable bouquets and arrangements. But beyond all of the pretty details, the most memorable thing about Kathryn and Mike's wedding day was the way they looked at each other, the way they love each other.
Before heading out for her first look with Mike, Kathryn shared a beautiful moment with her Dad. She looked radiant, and I'm pretty sure we were ALL crying when her Dad saw his little girl standing there as a bride.
Kathryn and Mike have the best friends, this bridal party was so lovely to work with. The girls all looked beautiful in their royal blue dresses, and the guys totally rocked their gray linen suits.
When the time came for Kathryn and Mike's ceremony, the sun was burning bright against the picturesque background at Makray. Kathryn and Mike shared a number of special moments during the ceremony, and together assembled a Unity Cross to symbolize their love for each other and for God.
As always, the room at Makray looked amazing, we loved the special DIY travel-themed touches sprinkled throughout the reception.
Kathryn and Mike, thank you for sharing this beautiful day with us, we wish you a lifetime of happiness together!
