We first met Geena and Dave at her brother's wedding last spring, and she was just SO lovely, I remember saying to Conrad "I hope someday we get to photograph her wedding!" Just over a year later, we had the absolute honor of spending another wedding weekend with this amazing family, steeped in tradition as we celebrated together for three days. Geena and Dave have a way of making everyone feel welcome, and we were all so happy to be a part of this beautiful time in their lives.
Geena chose a wedding sari that was unforgettably gorgeous. A departure from the traditional red garments worn by many South Asian brides, Geena's deep blue and coral peacock sari was stunning with her coloring and intricate wedding henna. As she was dressed by her mother and girlfriends she became more and more beautiful until the moment came for her to see Dave for the first time.
Geena and Dave LOVE balloons, and used a bunch of red balloons during their engagement session to show off their playful side. We brought another bunch of red balloons along on their wedding day, and it was the perfect visual bridge before their wedding ceremony. After they released their balloons they said goodbye to one another for the last time before becoming husband and wife.
Before the ceremony, Dave danced in his baraat along with family and friends before meeting with Geena's family. The ceremony was filled with beautiful, touching and funny moments all steeped in tradition.
After the ceremony guests returned that evening for a gorgeous reception, and Geena stunned in a bright pink outfit for the party. As guests danced the night away Geena and Dave reveled in their status as newlyweds, and happily began their lives together as husband and wife.
Thank you, Geena and Dave, for making us feel like family and sharing this beautiful and unforgettable weekend with us. We love you and wish you a lifetime of happiness together!
