Before I became a full-time photographer, I taught photography at Elk Grove High School for eight years. I loved building relationships with students, getting to know them at such a pivotal time in their lives was an absolute honor. I left teaching to raise my family, but I miss it, and I especially miss those amazing relationships. Being a photographer has afforded me some of that same opportunity to meet people at the most exciting times of their lives and build relationships as they move from being newly engaged to newlyweds to new parents. When Becky first reached out to me about photographing her wedding, I recognized her last name but didn't think much of it. But when we sat down together, I realized she was an Elk Grove alumnus, and her groom was one of my former students! Being a part of Becky and Steve's wedding was magical for me, a sweet reminder of past teaching days. They are high school sweethearts, two souls destined to be together, perfectly suited to each other and over-the-moon in love. Even though they are now coming up on their second anniversary, I still look back at their wedding photos and can't help but smile.

Becky and Steve chose my absolute favorite venue for their big day, Makray Memorial Golf Club. After putting on her gorgeous fitted gown, Becky met Steve with a playful butt-squeeze on the picturesque north side of the clubhouse. 

All eyes were on Becky as she floated down the aisle with her proud father, her gorgeous smile lit up the entire day. 

After the ceremony, the reception hall at Makray was ready for guests to dance the night away.
