Valerie and Jason's Gorgeous Summer Metropolis Ballroom Wedding

I remember meeting Valerie as a bridesmaid at her friend Christine's wedding in 2015 and hoping that someday I could photograph her wedding. She is gorgeous both inside and out, a ray of sunshine who can make everyone around her feel loved. Her guest at Christine and Shane's wedding was her kind and thoughtful new boyfriend Jason. They share a love of music and life that drew them to one another, and two years later decided to spend the rest of their lives together. I was thrilled when they asked Something Blue to be a part of their wedding!

As luck would have it we had an unseasonably HOT day for their engagement session last fall, and their wedding day was even hotter. We beat the heat by staying the bright and airy lobby of the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center, where Valerie got ready along with her closest friends and family. It was so fun to see Christine again, who is now expecting her first baby! Once Valerie was dressed in her stunning Matthew Christopher bridal gown she shared a sweet and emotional first look with her father before connecting with her groom. After we explored the Renaissance we took to the streets and alleyways of downtown Arlington Heights before heading into the Metropolis Ballroom for their beautiful ceremony and reception. It was an unforgettable day, filled with laughter and joy as we celebrated this amazing couple (and their adorable dog Chloe, who came to party during the cocktail hour!)
