In our jobs we are blessed to get a front row seat to the beautiful beginnings of countless marriages. Weddings are these amazing cultural events that celebrate love in such a visceral way, and we will never grow tired of being there alongside our couples as they begin their forever together. But it's rare that we get to come alongside a couple who has been together for 20 years. Kathy and Nathan were married in a courthouse in 1999 with only their immediate families there as witnesses. They celebrated afterwards with a studio photo shoot and a nice meal. Over the last two decades they weathered the storms of life and welcomed three amazing children, Arthur, Noah and Helen. To celebrate their 20th anniversary Kathy and Nathan chose to renew their vows surrounded by friends and family at an amazing venue dear to their hearts - The City Museum in St. Louis, Missouri.
Visiting the City Museum is an event unto itself; a living, breathing, ever-evolving work of art designed to encourage exploration and discovery. Kathy and Nathan own the condo that the City Museum's visionary founder Bob Cassilly once lived in and got ready before their ceremony in this unique historical space. Their children were beaming with pride alongside their parents as they lovingly celebrated together. For me this was a momentous event as Nathan is my husband's brother and their entire family is so dear to our hearts. After my recent health crisis it was a miracle that I could attend this wedding. To celebrate a marriage that has stood the test of time, to watch my amazing associates Conrad and Ryan confidently document this event through photos and video, to watch my children happily dance the night away - it was a beautiful dream. The way Kathy and Nathan look at each other, even after 20 years, is such a sweet inspiration. My favorite moment of the day was when Helen lovingly looked up at her parents with pride when they celebrated their vow renewal ending with a kiss. Talk about love, marriage, and family goals 💙
Congratulations, Kathy and Nathan, we love you and wish you a lifetime of continued happiness together! Let's do it again in 20 years!!
