Sarah and Danny's Emotional Summer Makray Memorial Golf Club Wedding

Sarah and Danny were destined to be together forever. When they were in middle school, their soccer teams played against each other, and they then both attended ISU. While they ran in the same circles for years, they didn't start dating until they were in their mid-20s when they shared childhood memories over a beer at Edison Park Fest. As they grew closer together they found in each other a shared love of family, and together weathered the storm of Danny losing his father to ALS. Danny surprised Sarah with a romantic proposal on Christmas Eve that involved their family's traditions and made them both feel that his Dad was there with them in spirit.

Sarah made sure there were thoughtful touches sprinkled throughout their wedding day. She had their florist tuck blue ribbons in Danny's boutonniere and her bouquet to honor his father's battle with ALS, the same ribbons from his memorial services. When they first saw each other before their ceremony at St. James, Danny was moved to tears both by his stunning bride and her thoughtfulness when he discovered the blue ribbons. Inside both of their wedding rings the infinity symbol to signify the depth of their love for one another.

When we arrived at Makray, we kicked off the celebration by first making time to take photographs with Sarah and Danny's sweet rescue puppy. Sarah was moved to tears to have her dog there as part of the biggest moment in her new family's life. After we explored the beautiful grounds of Makray with their amazing wedding party, Danny discovered one more surprise from his sweet wife. She had created a lovely tribute of photos on the piano outside their banquet room, and Danny was once again brought to tears by his loving bride. It was a beautiful and emotional day, topped by a rocking party at our favorite venue. It was one of those days we just never wanted to end.
