Carah and Thomas' Gorgeous Room 1520 Summer Wedding

Carah and Thomas have history that can be marked all the way back to 1992. Thomas remembers Carah adorably skipping down the hall in kindergarten with her pigtails bopping from side to side. The two also reminisce and laugh about participating in a couple of the same activities in middle school and going on a few casual dates in high school. Carah and Thomas often say, there is a time and place for everything and this is their time and place! Once they reconnected after college through a little bit of luck and the power of social media, they became inseparable. Thomas' proposal was something out of a fairy tale, you can read about it on their wedding blog. Coming alongside them as they planned their wedding was such a joy; I loved getting to know Carah and Thomas at their engagement session, and Conrad, Colette and I all had the most wonderful time celebrating with them throughout their unforgettable wedding day.

When we arrived at the luxurious Kimpton Gray in downtown Chicago, we were delighted to see sweet Sarah, one of Carah's gorgeous bridesmaids and former Something Blue bride. Carah was having a great time with her girls in the hotel room before slipping into her beautiful Martin Thornburg wedding gown. She then worked her way downstairs for her first look with Thomas. He looked amazing in his three-piece Perry Ellis suit and had the most joy-filled smile on his face throughout the day. Carah and Thomas are so sweetly in love, once they saw each other on that marble staircase they remained attached at the hip for the rest of their wedding day.

The temperature in Chicago on Carah and Thomas' wedding day was over 100 degrees, and we sought refuge for photos in the cool of Union Station. As we took photos with their wedding party, the hundreds of travelers waiting to depart thought they were witnessing a movie being filmed and they cheered wildly for Carah and Thomas when they kissed. Following their celebrity moment we worked our way to Room 1520, one of our favorite spots in the West Loop and the perfect backdrop for their wedding ceremony and reception. Carah looked radiant as she walked down the aisle on her father's arm, and we loved the sweet happy shimmy that Carah and Thomas shared after their first kiss together as husband and wife. As the sun went down and the room was transformed for dinner and dancing, we snuck up onto the roof of Room 1520 for some stolen moments while the sun set. After dinner, the party really got started as the dance floor filled up (before Thomas' epic garter dance) and we all danced the night away celebrating this amazing couple.
