Natalie and Lucas were first drawn to one another during their freshman orientation at Taylor University. They started dating just weeks later, and married the summer before their senior year of college. Natalie and Lucas' beautiful wedding was a quiet testimony to their love for Jesus and commitment to one another, and it was truly an honor for us to be a part of their celebration.
We met Lucas at Kimball Hill Park where he nervously waited for Natalie to arrive for their first look. His face completely lit up when he saw his gorgeous bride walk across the bridge to him, and it seemed that the nerves they were both experiencing melted away once they saw one another. Natalie and Lucas quietly exchanged private vows together on the bridge before their wedding party joined them for photos. As we snapped away it suddenly grew darker and windier, and soon a storm rolled in unlike any we have ever experienced. We later learned that it was a microburst that caused us to run for cover, drenching all of us before we took shelter at Meadows Christian Fellowship. Once we settled in at the church Natalie had a sweet first look with her Dad in the bride's room (which happened to be beautifully designed by Lucas' Mom!) Their emotional ceremony was led by our friend Pastor Bee, we loved when everyone in attendance joined voices together in worship, a reminder that Christ is and will be at the center of Natalie and Lucas' marriage.
Following the ceremony we traveled north to Byron Colby Barn for Natalie and Lucas' gorgeous reception. Lucas' aunt had worked tirelessly to beautifully decorate the barn, and we loved exploring the grounds taking photographs. After the storm we had experienced earlier it was such a gift to get a stunning sunset, the perfect end to a perfect day.
Congratulations, Natalie and Lucas, we love you and wish you a lifetime of happiness together!
